Brief History of Displaced Orphans International
Displaced Orphans International is a registered 501c(3) non-profit foundation started by a small group of Christians in Washington State who are intimately familiar with the critical problems facing displaced orphans on the borders of Thailand.
DOI was formed to provide hope to those children who currently have none.
The board members of DOI are all employed individuals who have been led by personal beliefs to assist the forgotten children in this area of the world. The children are not recognized by any national organization as refugees and hence receive little or no aid.
Strict accounting practices are followed and annual audit reports are filed with the IRS as required. These reports will be disclosed to any sponsor upon request to DOI. If interested, DOI can make arrangements for the sponsor to visit the orphanages in Thailand so you can see the results of our work first hand.
OH Christmas Tree
Tue, 11/01/2011 - 17:07 | by Greg WinemanThank you to Skagit Farmers Supply! That's right, we will be selling Christmas Trees this year at both Skagit Farmers Supply; Oak Harbor and Freeland! Please tell all of your friends and family to come get a great tree and help the children of Displaced Orphans at the same time.
We will begin setting tents the weekend before Thanksgiving and both stands open the day after Thanksgiving. We will have Noble Fir and Grand Fir Christmas Trees from 4 feet to 9 feet for everyone and some 10 foot to 14 foot for those who need a really big tree! Lynnette and I went to Green Valley Farms in Mollala, Oregon to "hand-pick" our trees.

How to Get Involved
Fri, 02/25/2011 - 12:23 | by lynnetteMany people ask us "How can I get involved?"
I thought I would take a little time and tell you about some very practical, simple ways to get involved...
First off we have tons of volunteer opportunities: There are several events DOI does throughout the year to raise funds for the financial need that continues all year long. From our annual auction to Christmas Trees there is something going on all year!
January 2011 Trip
Thu, 02/03/2011 - 10:15 | by Greg WinemanPlease Help! This was a fantastic trip, but we definitely felt led to grow the ministry. I need your help with funding. The children at several new sites need basic things like food and beds and blankets and water. We have agreed in advance to assist them and I need your agreement. Sometimes as Christians, it simply takes more than compassion and/or prayer.
We need you to partner with us and help. I have just finished a breakdown of the need and it is substantial. Together, I know we can do it. My beautiful bride will be uploading pictures for the 2011 Winter trip and I know that pictures help, but I just want to ask you to help me. Please jump in, make a few calls and ask your friends to jump in too.
The kids need you! I need you. Jesus needs you! We are now the support for nearly 1300 children and I must have your help! It takes $4200 per month to make the base-line for this ministry and I need some partners to jump in with me!
